Week #9, Exercise #23, Copyright - creative common, summarization
I really enjoyed the Disney videos about the copyright laws. It is such a delicate "issue" that everyone does not know what can be shared with giving credit of course and what can not be used because no one is really informed about the copyright laws. When I searched through creatvie common I noticed that the "flickr icon" was used like in the blog for the 23 things training. I really enjoyed this training. I learned so much about technology. This training helped me develop my orientation for the library this school year and the students really enjoyed it. Now teachers consider me a "PRO" in technology because of everything I integrated in my power point presentation. I can't thank Region One enough for providing this training. It was indeed an awesome experience.

Week #9, Exercise 22, Explore ebooks & Audio ebooks
I got several links from this exercise and added them to my blog. I am excited about ebooks, actually I am excited about anything that's free. A feature that I really liked was the option of getting the book's hard copy if one is interested. Another thing that I really found useful was the printed articles. When my own children are working on research or projects, sometimes we run out of sources or we want to look at something different not the same encyclopedias on line.
Week #9, Exercise 21, Podcasts
I reviewed and looked at Library Channel, LibVibe, and Educational Podcast Directory. The best one, for me, was EPD. It gives podcasts for specific grade levels and for specific subject areas. I found a lot of useful information even for my Sunday Religion class, it was awesome.
Week #9, Exercise 20, podcasts, video and download
I really had fun with youtube. I chose the video of the library dominoes. I chose this video because they put encyclopedias all around library and used them as dominoes, it was cute. I enjoyed the 70's commercials. I don't think I would use this in the library though, because it contains a lot of information that students would have easy access to it.
Week #8, Exercise 19, On applications & Tools
I really enjoyed this exercise. I can catalog my own and find other libraries with same reading preferences. I also liked that one can enter just title and it gives you the marc record. I definitely had to create my own account and add my own books to my library. I enjoyed reading the reviews and checking the number of members for each books. On old books there were few views like 5 or so but on new releases, like Twilight that my daughter is reading, it had 99 reviews and 1,310 members.
Week 8, Exercise #18, Online applications & tools
This exercise is great. Web based applications are better because they eliminate different software versions and because multiple users can edit same file. Zoho Writers has awesome features. My best one if the spread sheet, I always had nightmares trying to create spreadsheets. Another great feature is that with Zoho Writer one can work off line if there's no internet access. I created two documents and used several features.
Week #7, Exercise 17, Wikis
I would use wikis for books reviews. I also liked some other ideas about Battle of the Books - where students read books, then create questions and answers to help each other study for the test. Wikis can also be used in districts to develop curriculum, professional development, and organize meetings. My favorite use of wikis was one where students research topics like planets, states or animals, and then they create their report, after this other students go into wiki and add things they learned.
Week 7, Exercise #16, Wikis
I have enjoyed every single exercise in this training, but this one has been my best one. It has so much helpful information that I can implement in the library. Whenever I had questions or needed some kind of orientation I didn't know where to look and I didn't want to be bothering other colleagues because everybody is very busy during the school year. With this exercise I have the answers to all my questions and doubts. I really enjoyed the curriculum connection with this exercise. Students can work on research and then include different point of views from other people. In history they can compile a list of famous writers or inventors from certain cities, states or countries, they can also create trading cards of famous people, or come up with a top 10 list of scientist, artists, poets, etc. I checked the wikis and there was one that included a Booklovers Summer Reading Club. It should a listing of what members read during the summer, it also provides lists of different book titles for different categories. There was also the Teacherlibrarianwiki which was my best one. It contained links to blogs, copyright sources, organization and communication in elementary and at different levels, a link for new librarians, library survival strategies, current library news, copyright laws and so much more, this would be a great application to use within libraries. Everything I learned was very interesting and I am going to put in use this coming school year.

Week #6, Exercise #15 Tagging, Folksonomies
I learned that library 2.0 is used to describe new concepts to develop & deliver services in the library. Services are more user-centric and bottom line is the use of technology. That's why I am excited about this training because of the knowledge that I have obtained so far. For sure libraries won't be the same five years from now. The perspective of "Into a new world of librarianship" Now I understand that libraries are humans because it is the social and emotional engage center of learning & experience. Librarians plan with users & staff, keep up with technology, but not just to be with the in-thing but to benefit the users. The librarian embraces web tools and looks for future services. In this perspective the main goal of a librarian is to provide the best library services. Library 2.0 means to involved technology when providing library services. Library 2.0 for school libraries is for the students to have the knowledge to do research and learning new information with the use of technology.
Week #6, Exercise 14 Tagging, Folksonomies
I can't the statistics as to how many people are tagging, blogging, and using all the new trends in technology. When I tried searching for school library learning 2.0 - in blog it gave me 377 results. in tagging it provided me with 980 bookmarks, and blog directory 1, 900 results. The results were different. I searched on blogs, searches, and tags and what I found most interesting was all the information, links that are provided. It's surprising how many blogs are listed, they even provide favorite blogs, to narrow it down. The tagging seems great but I am overwhelmed with all this information, I guess the disadvantages about all this , is that for beginners like me it covers a lot and sometimes complicated steps to follow. But there are numerous advantages for high school and college students. For research or simply to stay informed. I guess it's a matter of playing with it and becoming familiar with all the features and what is out there.
Week #6, Exercise #13, Tagging, Folksonomies
The tagging is a great source because one gets to see what other people are searching and websites that they have found that are useful on a certain topic
Week5, Exercise #12, Play Week
This exercise is great. By using rollyo, one can obtain list of paper back titles, out of print books, ebooks. It also provides a collection of photos. The best feature if using rollyo to search for Math, history, famous quotations or any type of site that can come in handy for homework review or to refresh skills. I created my search roll for Reading but I couldn't send it to my blog.
Week 5, Exercise 11, Play week
This exercise is excatly what I had been looking for, for a long time. Ning is a group of people that interact and share ideas. It's the biggest book club and it also provides recommendations for good titles. I checked the link "library thing" and it's awesome it helps with cataloging, recommended book titles. I also liked teacher librarian Ning - I read some of the entries and it it's people new to the profession of teaching or librarian and asking for help or ideas for orientation or other subject matters. I enjoyed all the features and it would really benefit my library. I signed up for Teacher Librarian Ning. Travel IQ is a great activity to use with students for world geography. I played the USA challenge and had lots of fun reviewing states and capitals.
Week #5, Exercise 10, Play week
I love the curriculum connections in this exercise. I look forward to using this information with teachers and students. I am also excited about generating images to create my library page at my campus.
Week4, Exercise 9, RSS & Newsreads
The RSS contains a lot of good information - at least when I see the icon on a pase I will know what it is referring to or what it stands for. Before I would save all my regularly visit links under my favorites, and then I ended with such an extensive list. some links also provide top stories for my own city, without me searching for that.
Week#4, Exercise #8 RSS & Newsreads
RSS seems to be perfect for class research and to save time during library class. It sounds very practical and useful for internet search
Week 3, Exercise 7, Photos & Images
I take pictures with my phone or digital camera but have problems forwarding to family. Now with flickr, I feel that I can share my favorite pictures and don't have to keep them forever on my phone. I feel more comfortable with technology now and more at ease. I want to be able to download music, use ipods, like my kids do.
Week 3, Exercise #5 Photos & Images
I am overwhelmed all the features flickr has. There is so much available, if one has the knowledge, that we can put to good use and implement class projects.
Week 2, Exercise 3, Blogging
I feel successful. My accomplishments so far have been great. I really enjoyed creating my avatar.
Week 1, Exercise #2 Introduction
Learning Habits- I possess all these habits, I just hadn't realized that I did. The easiest habit is #1 and the hardest, I believe, is #2
Week 1, Exercise #1 Introduction
I think I will enjoy this training because I need to learn more about technology
Week #3, Exercise #6, Photos & Images
I am amazed with the features on flickr. I created my own trading card
